Here is the Memphis Skyline Mural that I did over the weekend at Adesa Memphis
This one was alot of fun to do! They wanted the pyramid, the Redbirds Stadium, the bridge, and the Fed-Ex Forum.
I have one more mural I'm doing this week for these guys.

Sincerely,

Alex harrison

Here are the murals that Judith Stevens and I did over at the Southern Avenue Charter School 3800 Kimball, Memphis TN

This is the basement floor of a church for use as a school.
The clients wanted something multicultural and stylized to look kinda like Dora the Explorer and Richard Scarry
We did this in 3 days.

Sincerely,,

Alex HArrison

This is Dinstuhl's Fine Candies on Pleasant View.
We have been painting these windows seasonally for the past year or two.
this is the very first one for Spring 2005 -
Yesterday I painted the fall scene for the second time.
It is the most fun to paint this mural - and the people at Dinstuhl's give me free candy while I'm working -
I feel this store is a good match for the style of painting I do for my gallery work - The colors are always fun -
like I'm cartooning in a way. The area is filled with car dealerships -an overdeveloped dreary generic feeling -
I feel that this mural helps the area aesthetically, especially the more recent ones

Sincerely
Alex Harrison

This is my first mural -
it's in Pappy's Oyster Bar - 2203 Whitten Rd. - Memphis,TN

I believe this one is about 23' x 5'
It took me 60 hrs to paint,
I could hear the roar of motorcycles from the Harley Davidson shop next door the entire time -
I was working on this the night the United States bombed Iraq, I remember being petrified.
SIncerely,

ALex Harrison

I did these two wall paintings of NBA players in a private residence here in Memphis.
The whole thing took me about 20 hours.
Mike Miller of the Memphis Grizzlies
and Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat.
I told the client that I would change the players if their son changed his mind.
The family had an amazing wire fox terrier that hung out with me and watched me paint.

Sincerely,
Alex harrison

This is at 1400 Union Ave., Memphis,TN
this one is 63' x 6' (I'll have to check the actual deminsions)
it took me around 60 hours to complete this-
While I was painting this the customers would stop and talk to me forever, I spent most of my time explaining what I was doing.
It was sooo much fun to interact with the public while making public art.
I was in the Commercial Appeal on May 15, 2005
I'll try to find the article and link it off of here

Sincerely,
Alex Harrison
